SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH by KATHRYN FREEMAN

SEARCH FOR TRUTH_front150dpi

Sometimes the truth hurts …

When journalist Tess Johnson takes a job at Helix pharmaceuticals, she has a very specific motive. Tess has reason to believe the company are knowingly producing a potentially harmful drug and, if her suspicions are confirmed, she will stop at nothing to make sure the truth comes out.

Jim Knight is the president of research and development at Helix and is a force to be reckoned with. After a disastrous office affair he’s determined that nothing else will distract him from his vision for the company. Failure is simply not an option.

As Tess and Jim start working together, both have their reasons for wanting to ignore the sexual chemistry that fires between them. But chemistry, like most things in the world of science, isn’t always easy to control.

My Thoughts - Romance

Wow! From the moment I started the book I couldn’t put it down!
I love LOVE Tess! Her character is so real and her situation is so captivating, you cant help but root for her to find what she is looking for … and even more, to find what she wasn’t looking for …

… in the form of the gorgeous Jim. Yum! Tall, dark and handsome, the man is risking it all for the good of a cause he believes in, it’s enough to make you fall in love with him from the start!

Their chemistry is amazing! and the detail of the story is brilliant – drawing you in and making you care about everyone, even the company you thought you hated.

…and if you don’t already know that redheads rock, or you don’t already have a shoe fetish …be prepared – you will most certainly now!

Well done Mrs Freeman! Very well written, beautiful story that will keep you on the edge of your seat – for all the right reasons!

Cant wait to read from her!

Search for Truth author

A former pharmacist, I’m now a medical writer who also writes romance. Some days a racing heart is a medical condition, others it’s the reaction to a hunky hero.
With two teenage boys and a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to buy a card (yes, he does), any romance is all in my head.

Then again, his unstinting support of my career change proves love isn’t always about hearts and flowers – and heroes come in many disguises.

Seized by Love – Melissa Foster

YOU FELL IN love with Blue Ryder and Lizzie Barber in Seaside Summers, now follow their journey to find true love in SEIZED BY LOVE, the first book in the Ryder series. Coming soon.

SeizedbyLove_FINAL_v2-copy-266x400

Lizzie Barber runs a successful flower shop by day and secretly hosts the Naked Baker webcast at night to help pay for her younger sister’s education. To keep friends and family from finding out about her sexy secret, she’s put her social life on hold until her sister’s education is paid off and she can stop filming the webcast.

Blue Ryder fell hard for Lizzie Barber when he met her a year ago, and he hasn’t been able to get her off his mind since. Everything about the feisty little brunette, from her tight body to her seductive smile, cuts straight to his heart. Though Lizzie has turned down every invitation he’s extended—Blue is not about to give up trying.

Renovating Lizzie’s kitchen brings Blue further into Lizzie’s life, and the oven is not the only thing heating up. One night and one powerful kiss changes everything. But when Lizzie’s secret is revealed and the safe bubble she’s hidden in shatters, true love may not be enough to put the pieces back together.

My Thoughts - Romance

Blue is every girl’s dream! Sexy, strong, kind, sexy, caring … did I mention sexy!
And the loving, big-hearted Blue has a bit of naughty side, which just adds to his already perfect persona.
But a past scar could keep him from accepting the secret of the girl he’s loved since the moment he laid eyes on her.

Can good girls be naughty and nice?
You better believe it!

Lizzie has always thought of others first, and helping is a part of who she is. But sharing her secret, or finally giving in to the earth-shattering chemistry between her and Blue, could be the best and the worst thing she’s ever done.
Her bubbly, sunshine personality touches more people than she could ever realise, and it takes a special kind of man to not only show her how incredible she is, but others in her life as well.

For obvious reasons – wane-be baker – this story was extra special to me!
Kudos to Melissa for showing us a super sexy side to baking … and Lick-it Lists … yum!
… and a spicy side to good girls and good boys.

Can’t wait for the rest of the Ryder’s stories!

Cape Cod Promises – Melissa Foster & Bella Andre

Welcome to Rockwell Island and the loyal, loving and super-sexy Rockwell family.

CCPromises-FINAL-266x400 cover
CAPE COD PROMISES

Trent Rockwell has it all—a thriving legal practice, co-ownership of the Rockwell Resort, and a big, loving family. And yet his failed marriage to Reese Nicholson has haunted him for ten long years. Now that he has moved back to Cape Cod Bay to help run his family’s resort, he is surrounded by memories of Reese…and he can’t stop longing for the woman he’d always believed was his one true love.…

At nineteen, artist Reese Nicholson was swept off her feet by the handsome, charming, and incredibly sensual Trent Rockwell. After a whirlwind courtship, they married and moved to New York City, where they hoped all of their personal and professional dreams would come true. But six months later, Reese returned to Rockwell Island broken-hearted and disillusioned.

For a decade, Trent and Reese carefully kept their distance. But all it takes is one accidental late-night encounter to immediately stir the desires they have both tried to bury deep. Powerless to resist the heat between them, every passionate kiss, loving caress, and heartfelt apology draws them closer together. So close that they can’t help but wonder if the promises they once made to love each other forever are still true…

My Thoughts - Romance

WOW!
Sparks, sparks and more SPARKS!
Reese and Trent fell head over heels in love at first sight! – and heart, body, soul and everything else!
But at 19, with very little life exposure and admittedly sometimes scared of her own shadow, Reese was not ready for life in NYC. Or ready to see what was really chasing Trent Rockwell to succeed at a life off the family island, at all costs.

It took Trent ten years to realise that what he thought he needed to do to prove himself and be happy, was not even close to what he actually needed to be happy! Reese. But after breaking her heart and his promise to many years ago, Trent might never have a chance at letting Reese understand just how much he needs her and how he never stopped loving her.
How do two people forgive and repair the past to find that all consuming love they lost themselves in so many years ago?

Beautiful, beautiful story!
The emotion and chemistry between Reese and Trent jump off every page! From the moment they run into each other again after ten years of avoidance, the want, need and love they still share envelopes you, crawls over your skin and leaves you holding your breath with each page as you root for them to discover just how absolutely perfect they are for each other!

“You’re touch is kryptonite to my mental abilities …” – Reese.

I LOVE Melissa’s writing, as you all know by now 🙂 I love her characters, I love the quirky and HOT HOT HOT ways she introduces you to them and makes you a part of their lives! This was my first introduction to Bella, and after reading the amazing collaboration with Melissa, I will surely be adding her to ‘Must Read Author’ list!

Can’t wait for the next one! And if you haven’t read the first book, Cape Cod Kisses, you’re missing out on super hot Quinn Rockwell and Shelley’s gorgeous story of finding love!

This time all of our Cape Cod promises are going to last forever.” – Trent

Fall in love with Sky Lacroux and Sawyer Bass in Seaside Nights, the fifth book in the Seaside Summers series!

Sky Lacroux has finally realized her dream and opened her own tattoo shop in Provincetown, Massachusetts. She’s happy as can be, renting a cottage in the Seaside community while renovations to her new apartment are being completed and preparing the shop for its grand opening. The only thing missing is the one thing she longs for, and has no control over—love.
Sawyer Bass, a professional boxer, plays his guitar to escape the painful reality of his father’s failing health and a recent health warning of his own. But when he spots a stunning brunette across the room, escaping reality goes out the door—and the beautiful woman becomes the focus of his next song—and maybe even the rest of his life.

The closer they become, the more she realizes that her alpha boxer is waging his own emotional battle—only the battle she thinks he’s waging isn’t the one that threatens to tear them apart

My Thoughts - Romance

And we’re back! Whoopwhoop!

Yes, I’m probably on the verge of having “Seaside Sister” tattooed on my … butt! Look…I’ve even done a cute design
SSister
Haven’t read the series yet?
*gasp!*sigh*roll-eyes*

*…then-squeel-with-excitement and jump up and down … cause I get to share it with you!*

Welcome to Seaside! Where they boys are all gorgeous and the girls are all your best friends – true story!
The characters are honest and real, and Melissa has a way of making you a part of their life and their story of love that is just insane … like getting ready to pack your bags and move there to go live with them insane!
You have no idea what you’ve been missing! So I advise you to get your hands on this series (and by advise I mean I’m standing over you stomping my foot, insisting that you absolutely have to!) and fall in love with the entire gang, their ‘chunky-dunking’ antics and their stories.

Some Blog-Lovin’

Everything is going well for Sky, now she has her own tattoo shop away from her over protective brothers and friend Blue. Then along comes boxer, Sawyer. Sawyer’s been told that one more blow to the head could leave him with permanent brain damage, but he has to win one last fight to provide his father with the the support he needs in his life. Not one to support violence, Sky has a problem with the idea of Sawyer fighting, but if she can get past it then she could find something amazing…
When I picked up Seaside Nights I found myself shocked by just how long its been since I read a Seaside Summers (part of Love in Bloom) book! Its so easy to fall back into the world of the characters, especially when so much had happened since the last book! It really does feel like going back to friends! (Plus who wouldn’t want to go Chunky Dunking!)
There was definitely chemistry between Sawyer and Sky and I liked how the two of them did things at their own pace, there was no sticking with ‘dating’ rules, nor was there peer pressure to adhere to. I think that made this feel like a maturer romance, even though the characters weren’t that old.
I absolutely love the way that Foster portrays female relationships. A lot of authors gloss over them or have one close female friend, but Foster has a group, and that group does all the little things that groups of female friends do, from picking out clothes to gossiping about dates and teasing each other. I really buy into it. I also really like the way that characters from previous books play a big role in Seaside Nights, and it is clear that there are future characters in the books too. I love how intertwined they all are!

– Review from Trips down imagination road

After returning to her home town Sky has finally flown the nest and got her own place, her own tattoo shop and life is good, except for one thing. Sky has watched all of her friends fall in love and now she longs for that special person in her life. The one person that you can’t live without.
Then along comes Sawyer Bass. Sawyer is a thoughtful, big hearted man with a poetic side. Sawyer is very talented he is always scribbling bits of songs down on whatever he can find. He’s also a boxer and at times I found it hard to put the two sides of him together. Oh and he’s also gorgeous.
As always Melissa is a very talented writer and I struggled to put this book down. I loved catching up with the Seaside gang and seeing where their lives have taken them since the last book.
I look forward to reading many more of Melissa’s books.

– Review from Starcrossed Reviews

The Demon Gabriella

Book Blurb

Surviving an onslaught of dark forces took talent, strength—and allowing the Demon Abraxas into the world. Now Sabel Young’s order wants her to answer for her actions. All Sabel wants is the freedom to love the woman she rescued, Ana Khoury.

Nearly killed—and worse—in a world of magic she didn’t know existed, Ana is nursing new scars and old. Her brother wants to journey to South Dakota to confront their shared past before that opportunity is lost forever. The centuries-old feud between the demons and witches isn’t going to stop Ana from going with him.

Sabel knows there’s nowhere that Ana can go that evil won’t follow and she fears their newest ally, the Demon Gabriella, is a more profound danger than their enemies.

Our Thoughts

WOW! Thrust into an unfamiliar and imagination-rich world from page one, this story hits the ground running!

Don’t expect any long, boring scenery descriptions here. The book is perfectly paced to keep you on the edge and in the story from beginning to end and the conversation flows naturally and with great detail to reflect the characters personality traits, quirks, flaws and situations.

I have not had the pleasure of reading the first book, The Demon Abraxas, (which I am definitely buying to read, as well as the rest of the series) but the details about the intricate relationship between all the characters, not only Ana, Abraxas, Sabel, Lily and Brie, and even the different groups is fascinating and very well crafted!

The back story is beautifully intertwined and the shift between the many layers and relationships keeps you glued to the pages. Can love prevail?
Kudos to Author Rachel Calish for a great story!

Really looking forward to the next book!

This is the first book of Rachel’s that I’ve read, so thought I would let you all know what other readers and bloggers are saying about the book. (Spoiler Alert – they all LOVE it!)

One of my favourite things about the worldbuilding in this book was how Calish described magic in the modern world. I love modern fantasy, and the way Sabel visualized the universe to do her magic really stood out for me. The demonology was also really interesting, which we learn as Ana does, since she’s the newest in the group to come into the magical paradigm. There was a bit of an American Gods vibe to the mythology. I found myself liking everyone, even adversaries. There was always something interesting about them and something interesting going on.

– Review by James from Fiction from the Crossroads

How could I not fall for this book…
I loved the characters in the book both for their depth and personality and for the LGBT side of the story, which I enjoy promoting. The lead characters has so much depth I genuinely felt as though I had known them my whole life, by the end of the book. I liked their attitudes and the way they handled situations. They were strong, defiant and courageous, even when they knew they were doomed to face darkness and trouble everywhere they went. They always stuck by their team and their love, never second-guessing just because there was an easier way. I also thought that Calish did extremely well to create a similar depth and detail for the secondary characters.

– Review by Bri from Natural Bri Plus take the SUPER FUN QUIZ from Bri!! (Love it!)

I really wasn’t sure if I’d like The Demon Gabriella, and was wary about it being the second book in the series. I can put that worry to rest right away for anyone who might want to pick this up. You’ll get enough information you don’t NEED to read the first book in the first chapter of this book. I have however, started reading The Demon Abraxas because I loved the writing style enough to want to read more by Calish.

Song of Secrets

Book Blurb

A shape-shifter with a penchant for breaking and entering …
A homeless boy struggling with hallucinations that could turn out to be all too real …
A monster in need of a rescue …
And a mathematical genius with a real demon of a mother …
Fate draws Theo, Gabe, Erin and Kitty to a place they jokingly call “The School for Wayward Demons.” There they learn that sinister forces threaten to invate the city of San Francisco and plot to overthrow the powers that be. Now they must choose whom to trust: the witches, the demon, or the Shaitans. Or each other.

Our Thoughtsreview done by Estelle from Murmers of a Wondering Soul

Enter a world of magic, demons, shape shifting, witches and real bad-ass demon demons. The story of four young people, each with their own unique backgrounds, heart-aches, trails and demon or magic blood, drawn from different worlds and ending up together in the School for Wayward Demons. Exactly what they are: wayward, undisciplined, untrained and touching into worlds beyond their understanding and abilities.

Theo the shape shifter with a penchant for taking that which does not belong to her, living life on the edge and filled with resentment towards anything sisterly or magic. Kitty, the mathematical genius and daughter of a demon mother and forever shying away from life in fear of her constant failure to live up to her mother’s expectations. Gabe with the sight, living on the streets, running from the dark clouds of lower demons that he sees around him, having to come to terms with what his ability to see opens up to him. Then there is Erin, broken, metal bound Erin who has to learn to trust, not only herself, but her new surroundings, trying to understand that magic can be good and just how much magic she is.

This is a fast paced tale filled with all things magical and dangerous. The clever use of language and words imprints a sense of everything happening on the edge. Whether it be the edge of danger, laughter, lust or trust. A layered tale drawing on the strengths and weaknesses of the characters to not only convey a story of saving a world but also exploring the balance between good and evil, trust and friendship, being a balanced human, struggling with human questions and morals.

Was the song of secrets a song about the metals of the periodic table? A song about how to use the metal powers of the Shaitans? What would Erin do with that song and her freedom? Will Gabe be able to unravel whether the Sangkesh are to be trusted, will his sight, being the seventh son of the seventh son help or hinder his journey into this new world where the fine line between good and evil confuses him. Will Kitty be able to solve the riddle of the prophecy: two demons, 2 witches, sing a song of secrets, sing a song of silver. Are the four of them the prophecy? The prophecy to keep the world of man safe and familiar and keep the magic alive? What about Theo’s attraction to Gabe, her reaction to magic and the realization that trust and family are words with more meaning than she could ever have imagined.
I loved the strong characters, the detail to small things, the feeling of “seeing” the characters, their environment and their feelings in vivid words. Unspoken tensions, regrets, pain and loss all become part of the healing process for these four students as they adjust to their new life at the School for Wayward Demons.

Really looking forward to the continuation of their journey.

Healed by Love by Melissa Foster

The Bradens (at Peaceful Harbor)
The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor are the newest addition to the award-winning Braden series and the Love in Bloom family, joining the Snow Sisters, the Bradens, the Remingtons, & Seaside Summers, (Voted BEST BOOK SERIES by Supportive Business Moms, UK).

Fall in love with Nate Braden & Jewel Fisher in Healed by Love.

HealedByLove-FINAL-266x400

Book Blurb

Nate Braden has loved his best friend’s younger sister Jewel for as long as he can remember, but between their age difference and his respect for Rick, he’s always kept his feelings at bay.
Now he’s back in Peaceful Harbor, and Jewel is no longer sixteen years old—but there’s an even bigger obstacle standing in his way. Nate and Rick joined the military together eight years earlier. Nate came home a hero, but Rick didn’t make it out alive.

My Thoughts - Romance

It’s a Melissa Foster Novel … and it’s a Braden – ‘nuff said. It’s already my favourite … until the next Braden’s story of course. Sigh.
I have had the pleasure of being a part of almost all of the Braden’s lives. (Yes, even If I’m on my couch only reading their story I am still absolutely there, don’t judge) And what a journey it has been!

Miss Foster, you have introduced us to such an amazing family and their friends, sharing their stories of heart ache, forgiveness, fear and love in such a special way that a little piece of each one always stays with you.

I have sung Melissa’s praises countless times. I love her writing style, love her story lines, appreciate the emotion and depth in each book and ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE her characters!
So I have decided that for this review, in celebration of the newest addition to the award-winning Braden series, I would share with you some of the other hosts’ thoughts and praises about Nate and Jewel’s beautiful story, as well as some of my favourite one liners from Melissa’s books – did I mention she has a killer sense of humour… 

Others’ Praises for Healed by Love

“Healed By Love pulls you in from page one with characters that are relatable and engaging.
Foster’s interpretation of Nate’s own struggles were so real, I found myself in tears (unexpectedly) for most of the book.”
– Stephanie Keys

“Nate and Jewel gave me everything I wanted: palpable emotions, likeable characters and the kind of romance that gives your butterflies.
Melissa Foster also showed some real class in the way she handled a potential minefield of a subject.”
– Charlotte Foreman from Best Chick Lit

“Another fantastic read by Melissa.
I love the way that there is so much emotion that you can kind of feel what they characters are going through.
I was hooked from the start, definitely a book that will not leave me for a long time.”
Echoes in an empty room

“My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Melissa Foster’s books are easy read hot romances, with sexy men, strong women and HEA endings.
I really enjoyed the depths of emotion which these characters went through before they could let go of all of their grief…”
– Rosie Amber

“What do you do when you fall for your best friend’s sister? You run like hell and join the army. Healed by love explored some hard hitting issues, such as grief, loss, guilt, trying to move on, forgiveness of one’s self and others and of course love.
It was passionate, sad and hopeful all at the same time.
This book is the beginning of a great series and could most definitely be read as a standalone novels as can all of Melissa Foster’s books. Highly recommended”
– Brook Cottage Books
