BOOK 4 in the Seaside Summers Series
Tony Black is the hottest surfer on the planet. He travels the world throughout the year and spends his summers on Cape Cod with his friends, at the Seaside cottages in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. He’s got his choice of women, but Amy Maples is the one he wants. Fourteen years ago she was his for an entire summer, until a devastating accident changed everything, and what they had seemed like it had never existed—at least for her.
Amy Maples is as consistent as the day is long. She’s spent summers on Cape Cod forever, she always does the right thing, and she’s spent years trying to reclaim the heart of Tony Black, the only man she’s ever loved. She’s back for a summer of fun with her friends at Seaside, only this year she’s been offered the opportunity of a lifetime thousands of miles away, and she’s decided to try one last time to reconnect with Tony. But having a relationship with Tony means dealing with her past—and dealing with her past may knock her to her knees.
Back in Seaside … home sweet home!
I have been waiting for Amy and Tony’s story since we were first introduced to the gang! They always seemed like the two would have the least amount of trouble getting together, since they were practically together … little did I know!
Amy Maples has always been the good girl in the gang. Seldom stepping out of line, while pining away for Tony. She went to a good college, built up her own successful business and kept her dad happy.
But this summer was different. She was risking it all to either have it all … or nothing. She was going to find out for once and for all if Tony feels the same about her and live happily ever after, or move to Australia and get over him.
But life is never that simple …
Tony Black has always looked out for Amy. But the reasons for this are far more complicated than any of the Seaside girls could ever have guessed, even Amy.
He lost his heart once, and has never risked it again, building walls of steel around him and his secret weakness – Amy.
She exuded sweetness like she was made of sugar.
There is a lot of history between them, and a buried secret that could change not only their relationship, but her relationship with the girls as well. Risking all for a maybe … ?
No spoiler alerts here – so all I’m going to say is that Amy and Tony had a LOT of pain and memories to work through, together and on their own … but as always, love is UNSTOPPABLE!
Their story makes you think back to your own childhood and your own memories, and look at them from a different perspective – maybe things weren’t as black and white or wrong and right as you might have imagined then. As adults now, we realise that there is far more to it than that.
Our parents are human after all, and had their own mistakes to make and lessons to learn, though they always our best interest at heart, no matter the personal battles they may have been fighting.
Not only did their story leave me with a #whoopwhoop of excitement and a warm fuzzy feeling all over, but also with a new appreciation for the pain and struggles we overcome that make us who we are today, and let us love the way we do.
Beautiful beautiful story!
PS. I’m going to be hunting for Sweet Heat jam and Kitten nighties … wink wink ;P
